Naphthol AS-BI ?-D-glucopyranoside is a chromogenic substrate that can be used in the detection of amines, alkaloids, and amino acids. This product has been shown to be useful for the diagnosis of food poisoning and the detection of bacteria in water samples. Naphthol AS-BI ?-D-glucopyranoside is a ligand that binds to an enzyme in order to produce a fluorescent signal. This product is also used as a bioluminescent substrate in bacterial culture media.
