4-Methoxyphenyl 3,4-O-isopropylidene-b-D-galactopyranoside is a synthetic, conjugated prodrug that is metabolized to its active form by esterases. It has been shown to inhibit the h2 receptor and coagulation in vitro. 4-Methoxyphenyl 3,4-O-isopropylidene-b-D-galactopyranoside has also been shown to be a diagnostic marker for lymphocytic leukemia cells.
