5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indoxyl phosphate, dipotassium salt is a chromogenic substrate that can be used to measure the activity of beta-galactosidase. It is a ligand that specifically binds to the enzyme and is used in diagnostic applications. 5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indoxyl phosphate, dipotassium salt has been shown to produce chemiluminescence when it reacts with hydrogen peroxide and an appropriate oxidizing agent.
