6-Chloro-3-indolyl-?-D-glucuronide is a chromogenic substrate for ?-glucuronidase. Upon cleavage by ?-glucuronidase, an insoluble salmon precipitate is formed that can be used in histochemical analysis of ?-glucuronidase activity.
6-Chloro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-glucuronic acid (cyclohexylammonium salt) is a chromogenic substrate for beta-glucuronidase yielding a salmon colored precipitate upon cleavage.
