4-Nitrophenyl 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-b-D-glucopyranoside 6-sulfate potassium salt is a fluorogenic substrate for the detection of ?-galactosidase activity. It is used for food testing and environmental testing, as well as in culture media, bioluminescence, chromogenic substrate, and high purity. 4NPPAG has been shown to be a ligand that binds to an enzyme or receptor on the cell surface. The conjugates of 4NPPAG can be used in diagnostics, staining, and chemiluminescence.
