Isopropyl 2-acetamido-3,4,6-tri-O-acetyl-2-deoxy-b-D-glucopyranoside (IATA) is a synthetic analog of retinoic acid (RA), a natural metabolite of vitamin A. IATA has been shown to be effective in the treatment of acute lung cancer. It activates TLR4 and inhibits TNF production in human monocytes. IATA also has antiinflammatory properties and can be used as a diagnostic agent for inflammatory diseases. This molecule can be used to diagnose the presence of various cancers, including prostate cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer and leukemia.
