2-O-(4-Nitrophenyl)-a-D-N-acetylneuraminic acid sodium salt is a fluorogenic substrate that is used in food testing and diagnostics. It has been used to measure the activity of alpha-galactosidase, alpha-glucosidase, and beta-galactosidase. 2-O-(4-Nitrophenyl)-a-D-N-acetylneuraminic acid sodium salt is also used as a high purity chromogenic substrate for Bacterial Glycolytic Enzyme (BGE). This product can be used in chemiluminescence or bioluminescence reactions.
