Lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT / neo-LNT)
Product Overview
Lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT) is a well-characterized human milk oligosaccharide (HMO) belonging to the lacto-series neutral glycans. It consists of a tetrasaccharide backbone formed by galactose (Gal), N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc), and glucose (Glc) connected through β-glycosidic linkages (Galβ1-4GlcNAcβ1-3Galβ1-4Glc).
LNnT naturally occurs in human breast milk and plays an important biological role as a soluble glycan that mediates microbial recognition and host–microbe interactions. Because of its defined structure and biological relevance, LNnT is widely used as a reference compound in glycobiology, microbiome, and nutrition-related research.
