2-Nitrophenyl bD-xylopyranoside 2-Nitrophenyl bD-xylopyranoside is a phenolic compound that has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes in the sulfate esterase enzyme family. The active site of this enzyme consists of three amino acid residues, and it is thought that 2-nitrophenyl bD- xylopyranoside binds to these amino acids, thereby inhibiting the enzymatic activity. This inhibition can be achieved by dialysis or filtration, as well as by adding sodium dodecylsulfate to a solution containing 2-nitrophenyl bD-xylopyranoside.
