These are glycoside in which a sugar group is bonded through one carbon to another group via a C-glycosidic bond. L-Galacto-2-heptulose exists as a solid, soluble (in water), and a very weakly acidic compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, L-galacto-2-heptulose can be found in cereals and cereal products.
